What's New in SimpleHelp 4.4

CPU and Memory Load Averages

​New CPU and memory load average graphs how 1, 5 and 15 minute averages for any monitored service in the Access tab.

Lock Display and Transmit Audio

Automatically lock the remote desktop when the session ends. This is a setting configured in the technician's session switches, and can also be forced for all technicians within a Technician Group, via the group's permissions.

Windows 7 and later support for system audio transfer, from the remote computer to the technician's computer. The technician is able to hear system sounds as they are produced on the remote computer.

Remote Access Hardware Details

Remote access services now collect and upload a range of hardware details when the service starts up. These are stored in the SimpleHelp server and can later be viewed if the machine is offline.

​Simpler Remote Access Service Preconfiguration

Create and manage preconfigured instances of the remote access service. These preconfigured instances can be easily downloaded from the SimpleHelp server and will automatically configure the service when installed.

By using preconfigured instances technicians can now create services for specific customers to simplify the installation and configuration of remote access services.

Free Let's Encrypt SSL Certificates

We believe any user of SimpleHelp should be able to secure their server using a SSL certificate. SimpleHelp v4.4 allows customers to easily request a free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate. The SimpleHelp server will also automatically renew the certificate when it is due to expire.

ARM Support for Remote Access Services

Install the remote access service on ARM Linux devices, like the Raspberry Pi. SimpleHelp supports installation of the service, remote access sessions, monitoring and is able to collect specific hardware details for these devices.

Visual Alarms

Visual alarms will automatically notify the technician when something in a specified area of the remote screen changes. This is particularly useful for getting notified about the completion of long running tasks.

Fast Reconnects on User Switches, Logins and Logouts

SimpleHelp now detects when a user's session is deactivated through a user switch, logout, or login, and automatically expedites a reconnect so that the technician is able to continue accessing the remote machine.
