SimpleHelp Mobile is a great way to connect to customers and remote machines from any device with just a web browser. SimpleHelp comes with mobile support as standard and it can easily be accessed through the /mobile page on your server.
Customers who use SimpleHelp Mobile frequently will have their server address bookmarked, yet those with iOS devices (iPhones, iPads and iPods) can also easily add SimpleHelp Mobile to their device’s Home Screen.
To do this, navigate to the /mobile page on your server , press
and choose Add to Home Screen. Enter a name for this shortcut and press Done. The result is a SimpleHelp Mobile app on your home screen.

How should the URL look and what version supports the mobile page? I have tried replacing “/tech” with “/mobile” in our URL, and I get a 404 error. We’re using 3.8…

Hello again, please disregard my comment… I haven’t been keeping up on the updates and I now see there are a few things added since 3.8…
Thanks to the team there!

Hi Al, You are correct: the /mobile interface was introduced in SimpleHelp 3.9 so your 3.8 server would not respond to that address. You can upload your license file into our license processor to check the latest version that you can upgrade to.

Hi Jesse. SimpleHelp forces all mobile communication to be encrypted and transmitted using HTTPS. SimpleHelp can either use a self-signed certificate to encrypt the communication, or can use an SSL certificate that you upload. In the self-signed case, browsers will produce a warning stating that the certificate is self-signed, and not approved by a certificate issuing authoring. The session is still secure and encrypted though, but if you wish to not receive this warning you need to upload a certificate into the Administration console.

Is it possible for SimpleHelp to support iOS/Android/Blackberry as a target client. It is great that I can use an iPad to support my clients but I think I will increasingly be asked to remotely support iPads and other tablets.
If it is not possible at the moment are there plans to add this feature? This will help the purchasing decision greatly!

Hi Mike. Yes, we are working on mobile customer support at the moment. Hopefully we’ll have it out nearer the third quarter.

Hi, does this work for android?

No, these are specific to iOS devices. We are not aware of a way to make webapps first class citizens in Android yet.
